1/18/2021: The Minocqua area recently received additional snowfall and currently has four inches of snow on the ground. Our area lakes have 11 inches or more of solid ice, and recreational users have enjoyed ice fishing, cross country skiing, and even ice skating on the frozen lakes in recent weeks. Lake Minocqua is frozen and conditions are good, however, watch for open water signs around permanent piers like the those located on our property.

The Pointe Hotel & Suites is located in Oneida County where snowmobile trails are currently closed due to the lack of snow required to maintain the trails. Vilas County trails are open for snowmobiling currently and conditions vary. Contact the local snowmobile clubs or the chamber in Vilas County for up-to-date trail condition information.

Cross-country skiing is considered good at Minocqua’s Winter Park, as well as fat biking, snowshoeing, and skating. Most state-owned cross-country ski trails are open but may not be groomed. Ice fishing has been fair to good depending on the lake. Truck or car travel on lakes is highly discouraged; snowmobiles, ATV’s and UTV’s are the primary vehicles being used to access fishing spots. Minocqua’s downtown Torpy Park ice rink is open for skating.
