Snow & Recreation Update

2/27/2022: Last week the Minocqua area received seven inches of new fallen snow and no matter if you are a snowmobiler, cross country skier or will be snowshoeing, the trails are in excellent condition. Our area lakes are safe for travel with solid thick ice; snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross country skiing, and even ice skating are popular lake sports.
This weekend’s (2/26-2/27) snowmobile guests have reported great to excellent trail and snow conditions. With the temperatures remaining mild and on the colder side this coming week the snowmobile season should extend into the next two weekends of March. Cross country skiing and snowshoeing reports are also stating excellent trail conditions and should extend well into the month of March.
The Pointe Hotel & Suites is located in Oneida County where snowmobile trails are open for lots of fun travel by snowmobile. The same can be said for our neighboring counties of Vilas & Price. Contact the local snowmobile clubs or the chamber in Minocqua or Eagle River, WI for updated trail condition information.
Cross-country skiing is considered excellent at Minocqua’s Winter Park, as well as at the State owned trails of Madeline Lake and Raven Trail located near Clear Lake, just minutes from the resort. Fat biking, snowshoeing, and skating are also available at Minocqua Winter Park Nordic Center. Minocqua’s downtown Torpy Park ice rink is open for skating.
